Nissan Elgrand engine management light

Car: Nissan Elgrand
Variant: E50
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi ...I have an E50 that the other night when I started it would not go above 1000rpm ...over 1000 rpm the management light would come on and limit revs to 1000- if I took my foot off the gas the light would go back on etc etc
After turning on and off the ignition nothing changed, however after calling for the AA I turned the engine on and it ran fine (cancelled AA)
The following day it ran perfectly and then this evening the fault returned although I turned it off and on and the fault disappeared
I am assuming this must be a sensor that is faulty ...does anyone have any ideas or is it possible to get an accurate diagnostic from a normal garage with diagnostic equipment for a vehicle of this age 1997 QD 32 Diesel auto

Thanks in advance

Suggest you look for a local diesel specialist that may have the old code reader still around.
Or local Nissan dealer.
They were readable back then with Nissan Consult if I recall.
