Nissan Almera grinding noise

Car: Nissan Almera
Variant: 1.5
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
there is an intermittent grinding noise coming from I think the front of the car. It sounds like something is rubbing against the wheel. The brake pads were renewed 3 months ago and the gearbox was rebuilt 14 months ago. I had the exhaust replaced about 3 months ago and when in top gear at 300 revs the exhaust sounds very loud, this dissapears when speed goes up. Could the grinding noise possibly be a wheel bearing going. There is no clunking or play.

Maybe best to get exhaust fixed first , then you might be able to locate noise better . Could be manifold / flange leaking if new system fitted .A wheel bearing tends to get noisier as speed increases rather than disappearing .Might be dirt in pads / calliper needing cleaned out .
