Nissan Almera rumbling noise

Car: Nissan Almera
Variant: 1.5 se manual
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
i have a constant rumbling noise from the front of the car.the wheel bearings seem ok (no play or grinding noises)and it passed mot 7 days ago.
The noise is apparent at low/high speeds and through out the gears, and running in neutral.
Noise doesn't seem to disappear steering side to side.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

is it possibly a bearing noise from either alternator or any other pulley driven by the aux belt

almeras have seriouse gearbox problems. if caught early enough box is repairable, if left too long main shaft bearing collapses and damages gearbox casing sometimes mainshaft breaks through into bell housing.if in later stages you will find it difficult to get into and out of gear and new box is only fix
