Mitsubishi Shogun knocking when changing gear

Car: Mitsubishi Shogun
Variant: 3.2 equippe
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
When changing gear there is a knock when power is off then another when power is back on. sounds like a backlash in rear diff box.Have just changed dual fly wheel and fitted new clutch.Wonder if the cause of clutch fail due to diff box problems.
Do use for towing and have used to pull out my kubita ride on mower so dont know if the power torque when pulling has damaged diff box. Some time fells under powered as if in to low a gear. also when cornering some times hard to steer round sharp bends.

Sure it,s not a failed c.v joint, best way to check is by jacking up complete vehicle and checking all wheels rotate in drive
