Mitsubishi Pajero starting & cutting out

Car: Mitsubishi Pajero
Variant: 2.8TDi Automatic
Model Year: 1995
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I have just had a new (wait for list)
Radiator, Thermostat, Head, Head Gasket, Drive Belts fitted! But now my garage are at a loss as the car starts then cuts out a few minutes later. They can't tow etc as is automatic. Any ideas as the longer they think about it the more I am being charged!

i suspect they have knocked the crankshaft position sensor or damaged the sensor plate. these are located on or around the crank pulley. either that or the cam timing is incorrect. hope this helps!!

i had the same problem it started and i would brake down in the same place about .5 miles away ever time i used it.

The problem was the fuel pump seal costing about £2.50 for seal and about £150 labour cost.
THE FUEL PUMP (MASIVE UNIT UNDER THE INTERCOOLER RAD HAS TO BE REMOVED AND THE SEALS CHANGED

THE RESAON FOR CUT OUT IS THAT THE FUEL IN THE FILLTER IS GETTING USED ONLY WHEN ON FUEL IN THERE CUT OUT HAPPENS.
YOU KEEP TURNING THE ENGINE OVER BIT OF SMOKE AND THEN YOU ARE RUNNING AGAIN BUT ONLY UNTIL THE FILTER RUN OUT ABOUT 3 MINS OR .5 MILES

The reason is that from import the seals are rubber and the fuel is a different grade to uk fuel yes diesel i know but the fuel over here has things in it so it does run better when cold
in japan the fuel has not got the addives in the fuel.
