Mitsubishi Pajero noise

Car: Mitsubishi Pajero
Variant: 2.5 td auto
Model Year: 1991
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
When accelerating there is a growl like noise but goes at about 2000 rpm, It is there when you take a left hand bend or the vehicle alters gradient or bumpy road. Sounds a little like a prop bearing noise? But this seems to go when in 4 wheel drive. I have been told that i cant leave it in permanent 4 wheel drive?

sounds like the prop shaft rubber donut needs replacing hence the noise and you cant drive in 4 wheel drive full time as this will damage the gearbox and will cost alot to replace as 4wd is for low speeds and rough terrain not high speeds
