Mitsubishi L200 won't start please help

Car: Mitsubishi L200
Variant: 2.5 td 4life
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi all hoping ye can help me out as im really suck, a couple of weeks ago my car became a little hard to start where it would take a few turns to get it going but then it started to get worse and i had to prime it to get it going, but the strange thing is this wasn't every time it would work fine for days and then suddenly wouldn't go so i'd have to prime it but the other day when i was out and came back to my car it just wouldn't go. There was no pattern to when it was happening eg hot or cold, it looks fuel related so i have changed the filter, Also i have noticed that when i prime it that after a bit the prime pump goes soft and i can prime it again is this normal

I would be greatful of any advice on what to try next cheers

Check for air leaks i.e check all pipes and unions including leak off pipes.

Hi I have had a quick check but cant seem to see anything do you think it sounds like a problem like that, what about the pump would that create a fault like this
Thank you for you fast response

On some cars if they were left facing up hill it was worse as fuel would feed back into tank and would mean they had to be primed .But may well be the pump also .

Could check the connections to the crankshaft sensor, unplug it and check for corroded contacts / broken wiring,

check the fuel line on top of your fuel tank it is a problem on the l200 that the pipe cracks and leaks air into the system. replace the pipe and see if this is the problem. its the cheapest check.

Thank you all for your quick responses, I will check the fuel lines on top of the tank, had a quick look and there's no fuel leak but I'll change them on top of the tank and hope for the best I'll get back on here tomorrow and either let you know or ask for more advise.
