Mitsubishi L200 occasional over sensitive alarm

My L200 alarm has fits of over sensitivity. normally Ok but now and then will go off when another car goes past or when touched lightly. Any ideas?

Have you got anything hanging in car as this would trigger the interior sensors???.

Can sensitivity not be adjusted ?
