Mitsubishi L200 cold start - heater light not coming on

Car: Mitsubishi L200
Variant: 2.5
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Can anyone help with the following problem.
This fault is intermittent. Sometimes when I try to start the vehicle from cold the heater light indication does not come on. Heater plugs have been checked and ok, fuses all ok. Can hear relays clicking when I turn the ignition. Could it be a loose connection somewhere??

check you glow plug relay located on the passenger inner wing and connections to just incase there is a lose connection which it does sound like with you saying the problem is intermittent

Thanks, have checked glow plug relay for any loose connections by leaving ignition on and checking if heater light illuminates but so far no joy.

Greetings ! Just to clarify something. Have you got the permanent 12v feed to relay, the fuse for this is on the positive battery terminal and is 80 amp. This is bolted in by 2 x 10mm bolts i think. Is the glow plug relay switching or does it have the voltage there to switch it. Also check to see if you have the right glow plugs in it. If you fit the wrong glow plugs it will cause some strange faults like, the relay will come on and then click straight out. Passenger side kick panel has the engine ECU there and possibility of a black box plugged into ECU which is a tuning chip normally genuine. The ECU controls the Glow plug relay and determines how long its in for via an engine temperature sender in head. Just a tip try using a test light as a multi meter will tell you voltage their but it will not have enough current to run anything. Hope this helps with your problems.
