Mitsubishi L200 electric windows go down and wont come up unless you pul them.

Car: Mitsubishi L200
Variant: Diamond 2.5
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Not every time, but electric windows, when you open them they stay down. When you try to lift them up they come up a little bit and then go back down, you have to grab them and pull as well as lifting button to close. Have been back to dealer and he told me its the side runners are pinching the glass and that its a safety thing, that I need to greese the runners regularly but I think this is bull.
Any comments?

It IS a safety thing. The motor will go back down if it meets any resistance. This is because a childs head or fingers could get in the way of the up and coming window and get trapped or worse. Its simple to fix. Wind the window down fully, check that the rubbers are straight and not kinked etc and free from any objects and spray all the runners with plenty of SILICONE spray not WD40 as this will soon dry and wash away in rain. The key is plenty of silicone spray in the rubbers to keep them lubricated.
