If a diagnostic scan with correct equipment carried out it should show you code for high fuel pressure fault . Filings in fuel filter can be caused by faulty high pressure pump. Once cause of high pressure located , rectified , change filter again and see if all o.k

Thanks, the dealer said it was normal to have metal in the fuel ? Nothing showed up on the computer but I was told that
They are leaning towards it being a problem with injectors, need to remove and send them to experts, at my expense of course
My garage says they need to run the engine until hot and measure the pressure as it was up at 6,000 when they tested it

" They are leaning towards it being a problem with injectors " Every chance the injectors are contaminated also but problem will return after cleaning them if cause not rectified .
