Mitsubishi L200 temp gauge

Can anyone help.my temp gauge goes up towards the red when I start to drive. It smells hot and the kenlowe fan dosnt kick in. Iv checked all fuses I don't lose any water no bubbling . The fan isn't stuck.

These are triggered by a coolant temperature sensor.
And the last one I did the sensor was slid into the top coolant hose.
Easy to spot as it just doesn't look stock.
