Last one I did had a very poor service record,
none of the grease nipple had been greased.
So I ended up replacing not only the idler arm/pivot but the pitman arm as well.
On the ramp the road wheels could not be turned/steered by hand on either side of the road wheel.
I had to turn the steering wheel to turn the road wheels.
Replacement of the idler and pitman arm created a huge improvement!
So I'd say your pitman arm sounds like the culprit.
But as there are 10 greasing points on the steering system on these I'd make absolutely sure every one is pumped full of grease until the grease can be "SEEN" flowing from under the rubber seals.
This L200 was supposed to be well serviced but as far as I could tell a grease gun had NEVER been near ANY of the many grease nipples.
Oh and don't forget the two greasing points on the prop shaft.
Steering parts were not the only thing neglected on this one.
Suspect yours also.
