Strangely enough I have one on the ramp at this moment,
year newer but still the same and I wouldn't call the gearbox mount small!
quite a large chunk of plate steel coming down from the box to either side of a cross member where the rubber isolation blocks are mounted.
and fairly easy to test when it's on the ramp,
just jack up the gearbox with the transmission jack,
if it does move you could see a gap.
But anyway one of the many things this l200 is in for is a new centre prop shaft carrier bearing and new prop shaft bearing,
the carrier bearing was practically disintegrating and was producing an occasional "knock" in certain conditions.
Again an easy test when it's up in the air to feel the play in the prop shaft bearing or the carrier bearing.
Oh and have a good look at the other bearings/joints on the underside,
many grease nipples to be seen,
and on this one they had not seen a grease gun in years,
if ever!
How's your look?
