Rear brake on both sides sometimes won`t release after breaking. Not all the time, only sometimes. The pads is touching the disc so the disc gets overheated. After a while when not driving the brakes get back to normal.

Does that year / model not have hand brake shoes inside the brake disc / hub . If so , you need to pull disc , check shoes and linkage , check h/brake cables not sticking . Also need to pull the pads , clean out callipers making sure pads are moving freely , Copperslip contact points , check calliper piston are moving freely .

Thank you for your reply. This is a strange fenomen. It has only happened three Times since middle of march. So its not very often. Could It be the hoses. Its only on the back wheels, both sides.

Brake flex hoses can collapse internally causing restriction on flow back of brake fluid and thereby holding the brake pads on but when this happens it is always there , not intermittent

What about the brake booster and master cylinder, could the problem be there? Strange though, if its only on two wheels. What about the ABS unit.

Brake booster would usually affect all brakes , really hard to diagnose with it happening so intermittently and without being able to replicate the fault
