Mini Cooper transmission problems

Car: Mini Cooper
Variant: auto
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Have had this car for 6 moths now - loads of fun to drive. The indicator light on the speedo that tells me what gear I am in or if I am automatic mode has started to display EP. Manual tells me to go to the dealer and not put car under excessive load. Any advice on what I can expect?

you need to let the garage carry out a diagnostic test on your car. that will identify the area of concern, then get an estimated cost for repairs if dealers want mega bucks then search out a local independant transmission specialist and pass the work to them. if its common theyll tell you over the phone what to expect whereas bmw probably wont even admit theyve ever had a fault on one of their cars before!!!!!
