Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
5 mins into my journey today I lost power and couldn't accelerate and increase my speed beyond 24mph. I heard a couple of beeps, but couldn't see anything wrong on the display. Unable to pull over, it rectified itself when I pulled off from the next roundabout. I pulled over when I could but everything seemed fine. I am on holiday in Dorset and will be driving home to Kent on Friday so I am naturally concerned if it happens on the motorway whilst other cars are travelling at speed. My car is an automatic ZS Exclusive 1.0 Turbo.

With such a new vehicle you would be better to get it checked out asap at the nearest dealership and explain to them your predicament and concerns about it recurring whilst on motorway on journey home

Thanks, much appreciated. I forgot to post my car has only done 200 miles, I got it a few days before I drove from Kent to Dorset.

Wow !! You really should contact your supplying dealership and tell them what happened and ask them their thoughts and advice . It may a known " fault " that is covered with a software update but I honestly dont know , or a once only glitch . Sorry cant be of more help .

Thanks again. I contacted my dealer as you suggested and they advised to call MG Assist. A very knowledgeable and helpful AA man arrived and his first thought was I had inadvertently put it into cruise control.
That made complete sense. It happened as I left a roundabout when I could have very easily set cruise control as the lever is next to the indicator. It then cancelled when I came to a stop at the next roundabout when it appeared to drive fine. I am new to this vehicle (10 days ownership) and have yet to study the online brochure for all the features.
Thanks again.
