MG ZS intermitent, stalling and loss of power.

Car: MG ZS
Variant: 180
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
This problem has been happening for about a year, I've took it to several garages, all of which have no clue, they don't see a code so they think it's fine.

So the problem is, when idling the car sounds rough, the revs move ever so slightly up and down all the time by a 100 revs, when driving, I put my foot on the clutch and it can go all the way past idle and just stall at high speeds, seems to be worse in the cold.

Replaced: MAP sensor, O2 sensors, fuel filter, battery, spark plugs.

Checked for vacuum leaks of which there is none, mixture seems a bit rich, manifold holds vacuum at 17 inHg, checked cylinder pressures which are all consistent, I'm pretty much out of idea's, only thing I can think of left is a new idle control valve.

i assume your car has the rover v6 engine? have you tried a new coolant temp sensor also try cleaning the throttle body and idle control valve you say the engine sounds rough do you mean noisey there was a problem with inlet manifold swirl flaps these rattle when past sell by date also is the valve timing ok and inlet manifold gasket ok

Yeah it's the Kv6, I have cleaned the throttle body and ICV a few times, it's not a rattle like if it was the valves, it sounds like it can't keep a steady rev, like the mixture is constantly off, as far as I'm aware the valve timing is fine, I have gone around the inlet manifold with propane and no leaks or anything, I have thought about changing the coolant temp sensor as I thought it may be that, its just a real pain to get to, not sure I want to dig in there unless I'm sure that's the problem, there no fault code or anything for it.
