Car: MG ZR
Variant: ZR 105+
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi there! I have a strange humming noise coming from under the front of my MGZR! Ive had both wheel bearings & the offside driveshaft changed & the problem still persists! its constantly there but really loud at about 60mph but seems to fade a little at just over 70! Ive also swapped the wheels round thinking it might b the tyres but to no luck! It definatly sounds like its coming from the drive! Please help

sounds like it could be worn mainshaft bearings in the gearbox, check the gearbox oil level and check for leaks, gearbox casings and diff seals always leak on these r65 boxes,if the bearings are knackered you need to get the box stripped down or replaced

Depends how bad noise is but I've had the odd one that was caused by wheel alignment being out and therefore not running true causing wheel / tyre noise .Might have altered slightly ,especially with the work you have had done on bearings / driveshaft .
