Check door drains are clear . Clutch problem is a common fault , here is an example
" As my earlier post shows, my 17 reg MG3 did have this problem but has now been successfully fixed by my mechanic. This involved him ordering a new set of nylon bushes, which do not cost too much and replacing the old set, which were worn. Apparently the nylon distorts when the engine gets too hot which eventually causes the shaft which connects the clutch and gearbox to stick. It seems that at some point the area around the clutch and gearbox had suffered from water ingress, which causes corrosion, which in turn produces this problem. He had to remove both the clutch and gearbox to get at the bushes and clean up the corrosion, and was careful to grease both the shaft and bushes so as to prevent the problem from recurring. This took over 4 hours to do, but is well worth it, as there is no other alternative (apart from having an undriveable car!).
Regarding the warranty, my mechanic stated that "I think it is more likely that the dealers are denying the existence of the problem to avoid warranty claims as it does seem to be a common issue."
