Was OK then would not start no lights etc put it down to battery put new battery on at night next morning battery dead again

If it were with me now I'd be checking the parasitic draw from the battery with the key out.

Pretty much all the bigger cars these days still use electricity even when the keys off and the car locked.
The Jag I've just done takes more than 10 mins before the vehicle goes to "sleep".
A test for parasitic draw involves an amp meter connected between the disconnected battery negative terminal and the - clamp to read just how much current is being used when the electrics are supposed to be off.
