As I have no power to dash board or fob to crank the steering lock is on .How do i get the steering lock off so I can at least tow the car to the garage? is ther a way I coul link up a power lead to a relay or fuse to let me get the lock off?

You wont have any power brakes or power steering to name just two unless engine running , so unsafe and illegal to tow

I have a 2-meter scaffold tube with chain and shackle on the towed car end and a 50mm ball hitch attachment on the towing vehicle end, This combination is commonly known as a"rigid tow bar" the car being towed cannot go anywhere other than follow the towing vehicle . It comes under the same principle as towing a caravan

That will be fine , was thinking it would just be the usual tow rope

Hi, it was a very simple and cheap construction, Most came from a scrap yard for £25 and a new shackle for £10 . The scrap yard operator tested it for me for free and put on a stress load of 15 tonne pull which is more than I would ever need and the bar and chains was perfect.
