Land Rover Freelander constant ingress of water on driver side. no obvious reason but footwell saturated

Car: Land Rover Freelander
Variant: HSE
Model Year: 2014
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Following recent service, noticed driver footwell sodden, but no recent rainfall, car wash or obvious possibility. Eventually returned to garage where token effort to clear sunroof drain did not solve the problem. Further investigations can provide no idea where the water comes from, but now recent heavy rainfall keeps the footwell absolutely sodden

You cleared the bulkhead / scuttle water drains ?

Yes, and the sunroof drains have also been cleaned out. Local garage had the car for several days but were unable to establish where the water was getting in but, having removed the covers of the bulkhead, identified the hole in the frame where the water comes out. The overnight rain scuppered the chance to test the windscreen to establish whether it is the source of the leak (car lives outside) and the footwell is once again sodden.

Apart from where it enters at top , on most cars with these drains the water comes out from behind the plastic covering under the wings . Or it should if if clear at bottom and not clogged further up which is what usually happens
