Land Rover Freelander raspy noise when at 3000revs

hi just bought a freelander 2.0 diesel and when i accellorate at about 3000revs theres a raspy sound from the engine. i dont think it does it just revving just when in drive.i think turbo ok feels like it kicks in at 1500revs just an annoying sound at 3000 n above,oh prop missing form front to back cud it be this. thanks for any help

first thing is to check for any loose heat shields and make sure exhaust is secure and not blowing also check for loose covers brackets on engine as for the prop missing must have been taken off due to a fault with vcu or worse IRD unit on back of gearbox not good idea to buy a vehicle that is not as designed if you decide to fit a prop at some time you must make sure all tyres are same size and of equal wear or you can damage VCU check all intercooler pipes for leaks /splits this can cause noise on acceleration
