Kia Sportage warning lights

Car: Kia Sportage
Variant: Diesel AWD Auto
Model Year: 2016
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Often when I select neutral, two warning lights appear on the dash screen – the electronic stability control and downhill brake control icons. This is intermittent and only happens when neutral is selected. Once these lights come on, they will stay on until the engine is switched off, even if I change to drive or reverse.

Do you not have the option to turn then off , usually shows how in owners manual .

Here are the warning lights on the Kia models and how to switch on / off . Might apply , might not .

The manual says these lights - among others - illuminate when the engine is switched on and then go out after a few seconds. Why they come on intermittently when neutral is selected is the mystery.
