Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When the engine is warm and doing around 2000 - 2500 rpm in 2 or 3rd gear the engine "misses". No backfire it just seems that the engine stops for a brief second causing terrible kangarooing type motion. At a junction the revs can drop and then the engine will cut out altogether. Starts OK again but as soon as you dab the accelerator it can cut out again. My gagrage have had it in twice now but the problem still persists. Any advice? Thanks

The garage told me last week that they believe it to be a timing belt issue, that they come across this issue all the time, which they said renders the vehicle's value completely worthless, but that I should seek a second opinion. Which is why I am asking questions like here on this forum.
