i have broken 2 pull release handles on an xtype
jag dealers charge £40 for a bit of plastic, but Britpart in stevenage are 6.99, how ever theu have an bone ripping 6.95 shipping cost. but what i did find when i took it off for the second time and £40, there is a piece stuct (german) number on the handle (actually a LHD ford mondeo mk1 bonnet release)£4.95 last time i looked. but the real underlying problem id where the cable is situated under the bonnet, its open to the elements at the front bonnet end, replace the cable and keep it greased stops the problem. i can actually pull the new cable with my fingers and it opens

I have found this with the XK as well, and have produced a prototype stainless steel release handle. We will be marketing them through the XKEC forums.
