Jaguar S-Type external temp sensor not working properly

Car: Jaguar S-Type
Variant: 2.5 v6
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
After running the engine for 5 minutes the external temperature reading climbs to over 40 degrees C even on a cool day. Consequently the other climate controls do not work as they should. Please tell me where the sensor is and how to install a new one. Thank you.

Been told by a friend (rightly or wrongly ) that you should try looking under the front no. plate at rear of front beam .You should be able to see part of it, a kind of cone shaped bottom .Case of then unplugging from bracket .Sometimes the position may vary slightly , but normally in that area . Hope this is correct .
