2016 diesel stalls occasionally when I accelerate, slows down and grinds to a halt. Changing the fuel filter has not made a difference.

MOT advisory: Track-rod balljoint cover deteriorated but not ingressing dirt. How soon should I get it attended to and should the track-rod end be replaced at same time as the cover?
