Steering wheel feels notchy when driving in a straight line. OK going round corners.

It's usually caused by the universal joints on the steering intermediate shaft from column to rack , Spray joints with lubricating oil and operate the steering to get it worked in is often the cure

Your welcome , may have to give it a couple of goes and a bit of patience for results but should fix the problem
