exhaust gpf dash light on all the time how do i fix it

my new car has been in the garage twice since I bought it with filter light
problems. Hyundai suggest that is my driving style. ? The say The car is unsuitable
for only driving short distances. In other words you have to drive long distances
for it to work. A hyundai garage told me there is a problem that is being looked at
but Hyundai wont confirm this. I wish I had not bought this car.jim struth

Bet you the salesman never mentioned anything about it being unsuitable for you at time of sale ? Unfortunately a lot of cars nowadays dont like being used less and for short trips where the engine rarely reaches working temperature . Keep at the garage who said " A hyundai garage told me there is a problem " for a resolution

Hi I have had this GPF issue now 3 times each time I have had to take the car up a motorway or a fast road in 3rd to 4th gear at around 60 to 70mph. You have to accelerate and decelerate for about 5 seconds to help it re gen the filter.
This and I repeat is highly unacceptable and in my view dangerous, I’m currently chasing my dealer and Hyundai for a suitable software or physical update. A petrol car was in the past 30 years or so of my driving life for short journeys that’s why I do not have a diesel car and I can’t afford a hybrid or full electric car.
There’s many Facebook groups about this and many forums such as this with people with this issue and we as the consumer need to push it more back on to Hyundai
I feel this engine or it’s filter system not fit for purpose and we need it to be updated by Hyundai free of charge under its 5 year warranty program
People are being fobbed off and ripped if with costly re gens at the dealers or paying for excess and unnecessary journeys to be made to clear there GPF issues
I will not leave this issue and will follow it up until they resolve this or I get rid of the car
Many thanks T

Hi all an update on my GPF issues is it’s now sorted.
I’ve sold the car and it’s someone else’s problem next
This will be my last post on here as I don’t own a Tucson anymore
Such a shame Hyundai customer service is so poor because I loved the car. To be fair though I got great price and ended up with a few grand after paying off the finance.
Good luck to all with this issue but I was not prepared to take anymore crap from Hyundai
Next up a Ford Kuga PHEV fingers crossed ??
Thanks for all the advice and goodbye ??

got my 1.6 petrol tucson 23 plate on 30/June/23 on 12/December/23 GPF light came on & dealer purged it but at end of March it came on again, on 2/ April/24 the dealer purged it once again. I had done 6060 miles including two 600+ return mile runs to Aberdeen from my house. Asked the dealer why ( bristol street motors , Peterlee, Durham ) response was WE DON'T KNOW so much for hyundai trained mechanics

They should find out the answer by contacting Hyundai technical support at the factory for help in resolving it
