on a very short journey home i put the ac on full as windows were very steamy and within 2 minutes i smelled a burning rubber or burning hair smell ...i stopped car and it was not from outside and i lifted bonnet and there was no smell from engine .....worried about using car tomorrow but could it just be a simple thing with ac? anyone please? ps no high heat indicated from engine either.

Being a 2007 , is car not still under warranty ? If so , a trip to dealers to let them see/ smell fault might be best bet . Could be heater motor, slight coolant leak or other possibilites .

Understand money being tight ,especially at this time of year with Christmas on the way .To get any warranty work carried out you need to keep sevicing up to date . Speak to them nicely about not managing to get car in beforehand as you needed car and you will probably be o.k .With winter approaching , safer to get serviced / antifreeze checked etc .especially with problem related to heater .
