Hyundai ix35 in car entertainment not reading ipod etc

The media section sometimes does not recognise my ipod "empty media device", also now starts the ipod (ignores playlist I am on) or cd from the first song if you switch off the engine and on a little while later OR if you switch source, ie take a phone call
