Hyundai Coupe hyundai coupe with intermittent starting problem

Car: Hyundai Coupe
Variant: 2.7 v6
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi

I have a 52 plate hyundai coupe 2.7 v6 with a startin g problem, when you start it, it takes a around 6-10seconds to fire and then there is a smell of fuel, I have changed the engine temp sensor and crank position sensor, which seemed to help but the fault has come back.
Once running the car drives fine with no problems.

Cheers

does it use a lot of fuel if so the problem could be the idle air control valve stuck.this would give hard starting more when hot.a main dealer or someone with good diagnostic kit should be able to move the valve if revs go up/down its ok if not clean out carbon or replace

Hi
One more question, will the idle control valve affect the idle of the engine when it is running as well? Or could it will sticking jsut enough to give a poor start?

cheers
