Hyundai Accent cutting out and dim battery light

Car: Hyundai Accent
Variant: 1.3
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
It has cut out 3 or 4 times in a week. It managed to start straight away once, but other times it took 10-15 minutes to start. If it doesn't start you could leave it overnight, come to it in the morning and it would start straight away. The key warning light comes on when the ignition is on, if the engine doesn't start it doesn't go off for about 15-20 seconds. If the engine starts the key will go off. The battery light is dim when the ignition is on, if the engine starts the battery goes off, there doesn't appear to be a problem with the alternater.
Thank You, Please can you help?
