Ford Streetka front wheel bearing

Car: Ford Streetka
Variant: Luxury
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I’m replacing the front wheel bearing and the bearing has on one side a magnetic strip which is used by the ABS sensor
All the U Tube videos say this strip should be inserted into the bearing facing onwards towards the engine.
But on the Streetka the ABS ring Is external and the sensor facing outwards towards this ring I therefore believe that the magnetic ring on the bearing should face outwards to magnetise the ABS ring am I correct

Unfortunately I didn’t take much notice and it destroyed the bearing taking it out

Never done on that car so not much help I'm afraid and I had the benefit of a hydraulic press when removing bearings from the hub which saved damaging too much and then could check for refitting if in doubt .

Normally the videos on you tube are not bad and if the are not accurate there are quickly pulled up in the comments and rectified by those posting .

I’ve worked it out as the ABS sensor and Ring are on the outside and not integral in the bearing housing and especially as the ABS sensor points outward towards the ring and wheel the magnetic strip on the bearing needs to be near them to make the ABS sensor work not inwards facing the engine nowhere near the ABS
