Ford Mondeo fuel pressure

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 1.8 zetec estate
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I recently had my fuel pressure checked and the reading was 5.0 Bar when it should be 2.8 - 3.0 Bar. What will be the problem and how do I solve it? Apparantly the ECU will compensate but I will use more fuel. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds as tho it could be the fuel pressure regulator that couldbe the problem. this is found on the fuel rail under the bonnet. i dont think you will use any more fuel than nessesry as unused fuel returns to the tank.
