Ford Mondeo steering fluid?

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 1.8 LX Manual
Model Year: 1998
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Having recently topped up the steering fluid, I started my car which lead to a scraping noise, upon this noise, i took a look under the bonet. the steering fluid was almost completely empty, having topped it up, the noise was temporarily gone. It has since started again and the fluid gone. As the engine is stopped the car 'hisses' as though air is escaping from somewhere.
