when driving it sounds and feels like u need to change gear even tho u dont,plus car never starts up first time just by using key,u always have to put foot on gas and give it a pump or two for it to start,please can someone tell me why this is?

Hard to diagnose from info given . If engine is over revving in relation to power / speed , could be clutch slip . Many causes for poor starting i.e engine coolant temp sensor , plugs , is the car due a service ? etc.etc .
