Ford Mondeo engine management

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 2.0 tdi Titanium X
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Engine will not start and can display any of the following messages: - Key not detected; Immobiliser active; front sensors inoperative; hill start malfunction.
Thereafter engine will turn over but not fire, eventually flattening battery. On some occasions locking car and then starting from scratch will result in it starting.

When booster battery connected and engine fires, generally first time, both heated screens are generally on.

Could this be a problem with the engine management system and how do I get it diagnosed?

Battery has been checked and is apparently in excellent order and there is no way of knowing if it is charging. The engine fires very easily after the initial failure

" Battery has been checked and is apparently in excellent order and there is no way of knowing if it is charging. " A simple test with a meter will tell if alternator is charging o.k .With both front and rear electric heated screens on , you are taking a large amount of power out of battery .
