Ford Mondeo engine management light on

I bought a y reg mondeo ghia saloon last weekend. In really good nick and at a reasonable price. Been drivivng well all week. this morning I jump started a mates acar off it and two miles later the engine management light came on and has stayed on!!! Car drives fine - any ideas???

get a scan done to check fault codes
