Ford Mondeo problem on acceleration

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 2.0 tdci
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
i could sit at 70mph all day and the car would be ok but sometimes when i put my foot down i get a little bit of hold back from the engine and sometimes the engine will cut out altogether. when this happens i get a light on the dashboard what looks like a coil(a squiggly line) flashing, if the engine does cut out i just have to pull over and restart the engine and everything is fine again.

the light is an engine management fault light therefore you should get the fault code memmory read so you can progress towards a fix for this fault before it gets worse
