Ford Mondeo gears refuse to engage into reverse or other gear slots

Dont know what size engine in your car but If it goes into the gears o.k with engine off , likely to be clutch fault . Could check clutch fluid level and for any sign of fluid leaks at master cyl . or even try bleeding but may be internal with general wear and tear on the clutch assembly .
