Hi, I own a Ford Mondeo, and have recently had problems with the front driver side brake. I had a new disc etc. fitted to get it to get it through it's MOT.
Not long after, I found that the wheel was heating up excessively (I'm no mechanic!) and took it back to the mechanic that fixed the brake for it's MOT.
He's said that he has replaced pretty much everything (inc. the master cylinder and calliper) and the piston will still not return, and hence the front brake is jammed on.
Any thoughts? It's been on going for about 3 months, and the mechanic honestly says that he doesn't have any other ideas.... HELP!

Hi! Did he replaced the caliper and the piston as well? Those should be replace as pair or renewed. As they wear, sometimes unevenly the inner piston moves not concentric with the caliper. When you break the oil pressure push the piston but after they can't retract. The pads stays on the disk. As you carry on, the disk spins and wear the pads. Your break will be hot after short distance and the break pads will wear out quicker or even unevenly, one is wear out the other stays almost new. I had similar problem with my escort 3 years ago. I've removed the break pads, pushed the break until the piston come out almost all away. Used fine sand paper to polish the piston and using a G clamp pushed back the piston. (watch out for the break oil, you may have to remove some) I'm not sure you have the same problem but sound similar. Good luck.
