loss of power slowed right down shudders unless revs kept between 1500-2000. ESP light on dash board combined with the oilchange warning light has bean on for a while ,but it does not nead an oil change

You really need to get it scanned with ForScan or similar as generic scanner wont scan all systems / ECUs . Ignore Eco boost engine fault codes and warnings at your peril
