Ford Mondeo removal of glove compartment to access fuse box

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 2.0 Ghia
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I suspect that the fuse for the cigar lighter is blown (I don't smoke!) -- cannot power my GPS or charge my mobile. I am not able to pull the glove box out in the manner suggested by the user manual. Cannot find the "lever at the back of the glove compartment"!

Hi. I had the same problem with access. This may not be the best solution, but I got increasingly frustrated trying to get my glovebox out 'correctly' and in the end just forced it, and it came out with no damage, and went back in just the same. There are two 'lugs' that hold it in, and these bend when you pull the box out. DO BE CAREFUL THOUGH! Although I was lucky, I would imagine these things could break if not careful enough.
