when i try to start the engine,the trip and mileage box plus fuel trip box, go out.The rest of dash indicators are as normal.any idea of the problem please

Check/ charge battery , or replace if needed , try a jump start .

You need a GLOBAL SCAN done.
this checks all the car computer modules,
including the instruments computer,
for faults and if all the modules are "talking" with each other.
Apart from that about the only thing your faults share is the earth/ground strap behind the drivers foot well panel.
Worth checking/cleaning that.
