Ford Mondeo central dash display not working

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 1.8 diesel
Model Year: 2010
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Three months ago after I parked the car for five days, the central screen and surrounding switches (radio/nav/phone etc) didn't come on until I drove about an hour, Then lit up slowly but surely and have stayed OK until yesterday, after parked car for a week, didn't work again and have NOT come back on. Car five years old, 60,000 miles. Is there a battery in there which provides the illumination for abt 15 mns after ignition switch off and which needs changing ?

Dont think so but almost sure if car battery low or needing charged it cuts out certain circuits to save power . Then when battery boosted by alternator on driving , resumes .But could be wrong .

Has happened again several times. new battery didn't help. Ford dealer removed unit, worked on it for two hours, couldn't find problem, suggest replacement which costs...well, you don't want to know. Waited a few days and the old one came on again by itself !
