Ford Mondeo analog fascia clock cannot be read in the dark

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: Manual Estate
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
This problem has been with me since I bought the Mondeo. I cannot read the hands of this analog clock in the dark. The numerals are lit up, but the hands cannot be seen. Is there a missing bulb? Or is the phosphorescent coating on the hands supposed to be sufficient? (It isn't) Michael
