Ford Mondeo strange noise when turning left

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: V reg zetec
Model Year: 2000
For the last week, when I drive the car left, I hear a strange whirring sound at the front of the car coming from underneath it seems.

It never occurs when I turn right.

I may have hit the cars base on a bumpy road a week back and that's the only thing I can think might have caused this.

What should I do please?

Hi, Sounds like a strange one. it could be a number of things:
1. C.V boot/joint gone: if you turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and have a look behind the front left wheel you should see a bee hive shape black plastic boot which covers the c.v joint just before the driveshaft enters the hub, have a good feel around it as this is full of grease and if cracked could be the cause of your problem. When they get cracked the let the grease out which means the joint isnt getting enough grease when being used therefore the c.v joint gives up.
2. Could be a problem with your steering rack (dealer inspection only)

Does the car judder at all at any speed?

it's your near side bearing needs replacing, or the hub bolt has come lose. Don't leave it get it sorted asap
